Hello all, I wanted to share my write up of how to make your own DIY fuse/relay box, it turned out really well for me and I am very happy with it. It was incredibly cheap when compared to commercially produce ones and if you have the time I think its well worth it to do. Check it out and let me know what you think and if you have any questions or need anything at all I'm happy to help!

Oh, and this isn't specifically for JKs, but I didn't know where else to post it so feel free to move it

Nice write up. I'm about to work on a relay box like this but I have one thing I'm not super confident about. I want to wire in 2 switches for a winch, one for power and the other a momentary for in/out. I can't quite wrap my head around how I should rig that. Any ideas?

Very nice, I did something like this on mine. I followed the Dbox instructions on YouTube. Yours looks great and awesome write up!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the materials to build the DBox on your own run you? I'm trying to decide whether or not its worth it for me to build one or just buy one.

What exactly is that, and where did your purchase it?

Thanks

Relay box through amazon :

Looks like the price increased a little
Amazon.com: HELLA H84988001 4-Way Mini Relay Box Kit: Automotive

I built the mount.

Less than a hundred bucks. Got everything off amazon. If you put the waterproof box into the search the other items will start to pop up in the frequently bought together bar.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was looking at doing this. I started to add up the prices for the stuff I would use and it got up to I think a little over $200. That was with the relay box above, wiring, fuse block, switches and panel (I liked the Rugged Ridge A pillar one), and a Pelican case to hold the wiring and such. I stopped at the low voltage cut off switch and thought the extra couple hundred was worth the time I'd save in just getting the sPOD.

This is a really cool idea, though, and kudos to those with the time to do it!
