Does anyone know what this connector is?

I was replacing the hose from snorkel to airbox and came across this. It is on right hand side of engine close to where battery is on LHF models (mine is RHD)

Hard to say. Most of us drive LHD, so I’m not sure if that is something required for outside the USA for emissions testing. It looks like something that would be emissions on the intake based on what you described. Can you show us the wiring connection side? Where does the wire go to on the wiring loom?

Well I got jeep back and decided to delve further. This is it.

I was looking at the wrong end. The end in my previous picture was where wiring should enter the connector.

Back out the pic. Is it on the snorkel hose? In that case, it could be for a MAF or MAP sensor.

No, it is not from the MAP or IAT. the male side has no wires or connectors so it may be just a blank plug.

Hard to tell.. Like Laggy suggests, take a shot from farther away so we can see exactly where it's located and what's around the plug for better reference.

Is this a petrol engine or diesel.?

Thanks all, it's a 3.6l manual pentastar, RHD. It is between where the tipm and engine would be on a LHD. I will take another pic.
