Does your 3.6L Pentastar consume oil?

I plan on pulling the trigger on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler soon.

The Pentastar has received a lot of praise for it's performance. How is it's longevity?

I have had a vehicle that consumed 1/2 quart of oil every 1000 miles. It was a PIA. I hope I do not have worry about this with the Pentastar.

So, does your Pentastar burn oil. If yes, how much?

All input appreciated.

I've bought four vehicles with Pentastar 3.6 liter engines in them. None of them have used a drop of oil. The one with the highest mileage is my wife's 2014 Grand Cherokee, with 17,000 miles on it. That Jeep routinely gets 20 to 21 mpg with daily driving back and forth to work. Wish the Wranglers did as well.

My 2012 3.6l uses up to 1quart every 1000 miles . It's not consistent in the usage. Has done it from the start. Have 40k on it now.

I have close to 15K miles.. this current oil change duration is 5K, I have 4K miles on the change and hasn't used any oil.

I'm running Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 for all those 5w30 haters out there.

I'm at about 37,000 miles and haven't had any oil consumption issues.

2012 JKU. Going on 19,000 miles..oil change appx every 3,000 miles.. Never added a drop of oil between changes and I do check my level. 1/2 quart every 1,000 miles don't sound right. that would put me a quart and a half low every oil change..Not right for the 3.6 engines.....

My last oil change was at approx 4,900 miles, and it was still on the top of the hash marks.
They are a very dry engine!!!!!!!!

Ran conventional for the first 30k miles. Zero oil loss. Switched to synthetic and I lost exactly 1 quart in 5.5k miles. I did notice blue smoke on cold starts. I put synthetic in again and I'm monitoring it closely.

My 2013 JKU has just over 30,000 miles on it and it does not burn any significant amount of oil. I change the oil and close the hood until the next change.

3 Pentastars...2 Jeeps one car..from 10k-30k miles...no oil consumption...however: I did do oil changes at 1K miles/ 1.5K miles. and 5K on each. Now they get changed annually or every 5K miles which ever comes first. GOOD LUCK!!

My 2012 didn't leak oil until I had one of the heads replaced due to misfire/bad heads (known problem on the 2012 Pent)

No oil consumption on my supercharged pentastar! My 08 accord coupe on the other hand would burn a quart every 1500 miles (which Honda considers normal).
