Dynatrac ProGrip Brake Squeak

Let me begin by saying that Dynatrac ProGrip is a GREAT product. I've had it for over a year now and am very pleased.

However, it did develop a squeak very soon after install but I only today discovered it was the source of my intermittent, non-rotational squeak. Specifically, the source was the pad clips on at least one of my calipers rubbing on the pad ears. Specifically, one of them was missing its backstop and was sliding around under the pad in its caliper seat.

The squeak itself was maddening. It was a very tinny, thin metal kind of squeak (almost like the noise that tanks in motion made in the movie Patton) that had me initially looking at the heat shields but they were not a culprit. I also thought at one point that it may be in the suspension (damaged or bound control arm bushings). I even thought my Falcon shocks may have been the offender - apparently these shocks can develop a squeak as well - and I greased them up per Teraflex recommendation.

The noise mainly came at low speed but it was likely present at high speed as well but I could not hear it due to wind/road noise. However, just this week I thought I narrowed it down to the driver rear wheel based on a single bump I took on that corner.

On a whim, I googled ProGrip and squeaks and there are a few posts about this phenomena on the various Jeep forums going back a few years. Regardless, I invested the time to replace these clips and I am euphoric. Its gone! Nothing! Quiet as a church mouse!

Anyway - sorry for the long post but I wanted to get as much of this down in case someone else Googles this issue.
