Engine Shudder

I have a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited. Lately when I accelerate through 35-40 mph the engine shudders unless I press the throttle harder. Any ideas what might be the cause of this shudder?

if it is not miss firing maybe motor mounts or u joint?

Does it sound like you are running over rumble strips in the road? Is it at about 1500 rpms at 40 ish. Mine does the same thing. If that is your issue I think it is the torque converter.

Change your Tranny fluid and filter, while your at it change the Transmission Range Sensor in the Transmission. Also, FWIW check your spark plug wires and make sure connected and secure to plugs. These 07-10 models need the tranny fluid changed a little more frequently. IF YOU HAVE A AUTOMATIC....
