fluid flush

How often should the brake fluid and coolant be flushed out of a 3.6? My 2012 has about 45k on it and I probably want to do it this fall before it gets too cold out if it is nearly time. Whats the change interval for these?

Your 2012 takes HOAT antifreeze.
The recommended change is, 5 years, or 100,000 miles whichever comes first.

As for brake fluid, well since I have been driving for about 55 years, I have never had a need to change out Brake fluid. Plus I have never had a brake failure, contributed to contaminate fluid!!!!!!!!!!

This things are cheap to replace, it would be better to replace them every 2-3 years just to be safe.

No changing of the brake fluid? Thats odd. Ive had cars seize up their calipers because the brake fluid wasnt changed early enough. Brake fluid holds water so it can get gunked up

It'll absorb moisture and hold it, which if you've got steel lines will rust them out. The 3-year old brake fluid in my midyear Vette is about 4% water, according to the annual safety inspection. It'll be flushed shortly.

I certainly wouldn't wait to have a brake failure to perform basic preventative maintenance. Although, I have had a brake failure (I think I forgot a cotter pin, whoops) and that was an unpleasant experience.
