Gibson dual exhaust. .. not loud?

I just installed Gibson dual exhaust on 14' Rubicon. When I researched that exhaust it sounded the loudest on youtube and read forum posts saying it was loud. To me its not even close to loud. Has a good tone from 1k-2.5k but thats it. Will it get louder the more I drive? If not what else can I do to increase the sound?

To be honest, with a small 3.6L engine I doubt you would want it any louder because it will just sound like a rice rocket.

Hope it gets louder. So disappointed in the aftermarket 3.6l performance parts... there's nothing unless I design it.

As for the ricer sounding I dont expect a v8 sound and would be content with a raspy sound. Granted im use to the race bikes, F1 and similar so the raspy sound I like. However that does not include those ghetto ricers lol.

Thanks for the info!

It's a V-6. Nothing is going to make it sound like a V-8. I have the Gibson dual exhaust on my '13 JKU and it sounds more ricy than loud. I've had it about six months now, and it's got a little bit of a growl to it, but nothing that will scare old ladies and kids. I also put a K&N CAI under the hood and that might have added a little to the noise factor.

Gibson exhaust systems are not the loudest on the market, they tend to provide a deeper tone which is louder than stock. As someone mentioned in this tread that it gives it more growl that's a good way of putting it.

Have you listened to your exhaust system with the windows down or top off your Wrangler? Reason I ask is that it's still cold in some areas of the country and if you have a hard top and closed windows you aren't going to notice much of a difference. However outside the vehicle you will. I bought a Gibson exhaust system some years ago on a 5.2 liter V8 powered Jeep ZJ GC. The Gibson offered a very nice deep sound which I could hear when the windows were down but sounded just a very slight bit louder than stock with the windows closed. I commuted to work in the ZJ and didn't want a bunch of resonance in the interior cabin since after some time behind the wheel it drives you crazy when the exhaust is too loud inside the interior cabin. Others would remark at how great my Gibson exhaust sounded when I would drive by. The Gibson is a great exhaust for adding a deeper rumble to your exhaust note while not letting you hear the resonance inside the cabin which will give you a headache real fast. The (stainless steel) Gibson was on my ZJ for 9 years and looked as good as new when I sold it to the next owner, it was a performance exhaust system you could easily live with.

You could could go with a hallow mufflers or the really loud Flowmaster mufflers on your Wrangler however I think over time the sound will drive you crazy on the highway and around town. Very loud exhaust sounds good at first but after awhile many owners can't wait to replace these types of loud systems with something quieter. So as I always say its good to have a deeper exhaust note to be heard, but it's not good if others can hear your 3 street blocks away, since more than likely by retirement age the ear drums will be gone.

Haha on retirement age ears. I will admit there is no drone and good low end sounds. Does sound better with windows down. I would not put flowmaster on it or go straight pipe... now 15 years ago I would be all for it lol. Miss the days of hollow or missing catalytic converters, headers and cheapest muffler you coud find. Now that was loud. Set off every car alarm in a parking lot lol. Only pulled over once for a minor infraction and officer asked about my motor. Good days lol.

Back to Gibson. .. yea its not horrible and worth the price I paid. I am curious what it sounds like outside the jeep at 6k drive by...
