Half door mirror vs a full door mirror, differences?_

Ok unfortunately due to another vehicle striking my driver side door mirror and destroying it, I need to replace it, but kind of unsure the differences, I do plan to get core doors down the line which are half doors, but kind of confused as to what is the differences between half door vs full door mirrors?

Using MyMoparParts.com to search the mirrors here is the link for a 2017:
https://www.mymoparparts.com/search?...outside+mirror

Notice that both right side mirrors are described as for full doors and both left side mirrors are described as for half doors. I personally thought before I looked that half door mirrors would have been manual, but apparently not.

Left folding "half door" manual 68081251AB, but the companion right side 68081250AB is described as Right folding "full door" manual. Same holds true for the electric mirrors with the left side 68249847AD described as folding "half door" while the companion right side 68249846AD is described as "full door".

So, I would say no difference. The description may be a quirk in Mopars system in there may not be room for the full description in the data record.

Quadratec has their mirrors priced lower, especially the ones that are overstocked. Don't forget they give a discount to WF members.

I don't think there's much difference, from what I can tell, beside the overall look and shape of the mirrors.

I have Bestop element doors that I run most of the year and I ended up putting these on them:
https://www.quadratec.com/products/13011_110X_PG.htm

When I look at OEM replacements, something like this (pending if you have powered/heated mirrors, etc): https://www.quadratec.com/products/13111_0330_14.htm

Looking at the mounting hardware, they look the same, so I guess it depends if you're looking to replace both current mirrors or just the driver side. Are you looking to get just 1 set of mirrors and then transfer them to the half doors down the line? Or will you be swapping between full and half doors throughout the year when you get them? If the latter, than I'd just say replace the current mirror with an OEM equivalent and then down the line pick the styling that you like for a set to put on the half doors.

My Jeep is manual everything including mirrors (exactly how I honestly like my Jeep)

Reason I was looking at moparonline is because I’m hoping I can work with the other party and get them to replace the mirror without having to involve any insurance parties or what have you

If it is just the mirror, it would be far cheaper for them to replace the mirror with a Mopar part. If they or you involve their insurance carrier, there may be a rate increase in the offing for them.

I am hoping that the other party will see it the same way I am and feel the same as me about involving the insurance company and agree that it is useless and easier to just pay to replace and be done type thing

The only difference between half door mirrors, and full door mirrors is, halfies were not power.
Mechanically, and aesthetically they are identical.
That said, they are the same.
When I converted my halfies to power/heated, I just used these factory duplicates from Quadratec.
They are factory clones, and can not beat the price!

They are exactly the same as long as both are manual mirrors.

Wow $129.99 for the stocker non power mirrors in black, but the same exact ones in hideous chromed plastic are for $49.99 WTF is this drunken mess…well I guess I will go with the fuggly chrome ones…I would be honestly better off ordering the power ones for about the same price and just manually adjusting them and leave them

Don't think the powered mirrors tolerate routine manual adjustment

Like anything, price is a function of sales. What sells has a high price, what doesn't gets discounted.

Not diggin' the chrome on a Jeep, I would have used the powers.
Maybe you can plastidip them with a coat of satin clear, they might look right

I agree, not diggin the chrome at all, don't care if its a Jeep or my F250.....I hate the plastic chrome, it just looks cheap and well......crap.....may look to see if I can find that special paint that I can use on chrome surfaces and paint them either a darker color (like a tint) or find a green color at least try to get them to be close in looks to the jeep color (going to be impossible), but what ever.....also keep in mind I am not going to pay $129 for someone elses screw up, which they still haven't reached out to me so.....

I did that for quit a while on my half doors, until I finally made a harness for them.
It worked ok, but did not really adjust them much
