New to the jeep world. Brought home a 2012 JKU white sahara. Looking to upgrade the headlights. Not sure which way to go as there are so many options. I am used to having a car with HIDs so the stock lights are just not going to cut it. I was thinking about the color changing Halo lights but not sure how bright they actually are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It really boils down to how much you are willing to spend and the style of headlight you like best. HIDs would have to be retrofit and are not recommended (aside from it technically being illegal to do so). LEDs are the headlight type of choice for many here. You can check out offerings from Quadratec, Truck Lite, KC, Peterson and JW Speaker. JW Speaker is generally regarded as the best. I have the Quadratec Stealth LEDs, and in my opinion, they are the best bang for your buck quality headlight out there.

Lots of options... Many of us will only recommend the products that meet DOT standards and it's really an issue if you live in an inspection state.

Here's some nice pieces to look at.

Quadratec LED Headlights for 07-16 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec
Truck-Lite LED Headlight Kit for 07-16 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

Raxiom Wrangler Smoked LED Headlights J103746 (07-16 Wrangler JK) - Free Shipping
KC Hilites Wrangler LED Headlight 7in. Pair 42321 (07-16 Wrangler JK) - Free Shipping

JW Speaker LED Headlights – Model 8700 Evolution J Series

The only real HID kit that isn't illegal to run is the Hella 90mm and it's hella expensive. These Bi-Xenon's are the best headlights you can buy.

I really like the Truck Lites, they are night and day compared to stock.

I agree the stockers suck bigtime! I replaced them with the Quadratec LED. They are a HUGE improvement. The only issue I have seen with them is they don't keep the snow and ice from building up on them.

We have only had one day of snow so far this year and it was a warm, wet and kinda nasty day. I stopped to get gas and noticed they were almost completely covered with snow and slush. I just hope they are better in the normal winter weather.

I looked at the heated ones but they are real pricey.

I just added some rigid cubes as additional lighting...

not legal to run 6 lights, but when no others on the road, they help (even not adjusted as they re now!)

I went with JW speaker, improved visibility, durable, look great and didn't need any adapters or splicing. True plug and play. Its an investment but definitely worth the $$$.

Have a great day all.
