Help Me Identify a Leak

What would this be leaking here - engine oil, trans or Transfercase?

It's brownish and not stinky so changing my guess to oil. Friends are saying blown rear main seal.

Ok so Lunatic crawled under it and we now think it's the infamous cracked oil filter housing. Hunting down a tow to get it to the dealer. The good news is it must have just let go as I pulled in the drive as oil level still reads almost full.

check the valley down at the bottom of the oil filter assembly. are you getting a burnt oil smell after you drive the vehicle?

I was driving at rush hour, so lots of stinky trucks, and my windows down (Phoenix problems lol!). Nothing really screamed at me. I suspect it may have just cracked "enough" as I got close to home or pulled in the drive - there were no spots on the drive when I pulled in, an hour later I went outside and saw the spot. And we checked the oil and it still reads just about full, so it was either a small leak that grew or it just gave way when I pulled in the drive.

Just got on the tow truck to the dealer. Covered by FCA roadside. I called the dealer so they know it's coming. Will post back when I hear from the dealer.

Rear main leak would have a "drip" on the bell most likely. Mine has Ben leaking for 3 years.

Bob will be discharged from the Jeep hospital and all better today! The diagnosis: blown head gasket and new cylinder 2 head all covered under warranty.

I thought they had all the head issues resolved before the 14s? Apparently not.

Yep! Also they added oil cooler to the list they replaced. Much better now.

What actually happened to cylinder head? Same problem as earlier ones or a different issue?

They didnt specifically say but going to suspect the problem Jeep claimed to have resolved by the early 13s wasn't as "resolved" as they claimed. On the leak down (?) test, was 50%.

Not sure without knowing more information on what the issues were you can link your problem to early head issues. Which head was it? Chipped valve dropped valve retainer etc without knowing hard to say.

#2. I have the paperwork at home and will look to see if they say something that may give a clue.

So how is the warranty on the repairs? Any long term issues?
