Help me identify this problem

I was doing an oil change yesterday and I noticed oil on the inside of the wheel suspension.

Thanks
Howard

Looks like your axle seal may be leaking a bit.

x2 . the calliper looks dry so I'd second the axle seal. I'd also check the shock over well to see If it's leaking some fluid.

Could very well be the axle seal, but Are you sure you didn't spill any oil during change? Track it from engine bay down to see if you can find any oil track (just an experience)!

Thanks for the replies guys...

@ Joe ... no i didn't spill a drop this time

@ KJ .... Nope nothing from the inside of the tube ...

So if the axle seal is leaking is this something a home mechanic can fix with novice to med skill set ?

If left alone for a while is it dangerous to the driver or the axle ?

Appreciate your input guys .. thx again

Agreed. Clean it off. It could just be the grease liquefying and seeping from the joint.

How about sticking your finger in it, and seeing if it smells like gear oil?
