How to keep rear seat folded up?

2010 JKR, 2 door, soft top. When I fold up the rear seat, it does not have a latch or anything to hold it upright. Should there be a latch or strap to keep it up? Mine flops up when stopping, slams down when taking off.
Any tips, what to look for?

We just use a bungee cord to hold it. Not the best, there should be something more solid.

I just loop a tie down around both roll bars and cinch it up under the back seat latches.
Just make sure it's looped under the seat belts or they won't retract.

Tried the bungee cord but didn't like the back seat smacking the back of my seat under hard acceleration. Felt like getting rear ended by a little CRX. Kind of unnerving the first time.

My girlfriend found out that the seat doesn't always want to stay up on it's own when she took off and the back seat slammed down on the birthday cake she had in the back. I couldn't help but laugh but I don't believe she though it was too funny.

I have a load bar that I purchased at Home Depot for about $20. It ratchets open and holds in place nicely. I purchased because I was afraid of the seat falling back onto my dog.

macaw1us: the backseat was out of my jeep and in the garage within one day. The 2 door Rubi is MINE and I don't need to ferry around back seat passengers!

Mine is in my basement. Doesn't move down there and doesn't get in my way.

I used to remove it on my YJ and TJ. The 2010 I had to bungee since the rear seat tripled in weight. I now have an unlimited and just fold them down (prefer 2dr but want space).

I also use a bungee cord.
One part hooks into the seat hold down and he other on the headrest bar of the pass seat.
In addition, the same bungee holds the pass seat forward when we need it to stay.
From the headrest to the front grab handle.

I really like the idea of the load bar. I'm guessing if you trust your dog in the back with it it must be nice and sturdy! Where does it attach to, is it looking like it might damage any of the interior?

I got the Haulmaster ratcheting bar. Installed it, looks like it will work ok, can stow under seat when not needed.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
