QUESTIONS:

1) I was told that if I'm going to put an aftermarket radio in, then I should not get the Connectivity Group or Sirius XM. Is this correct?

2) Can I get a 430N with navigation and install it in here, and expect it to work?

MORE QUESTIONS:

3) According to AEV's site, the A580 automatic transmission can supposedly be regeared through the ProCal module. I don't really understand that - I thought regearing required mechanically replacing gears?

4) If I use the ProCal to regear the transmission, does that mean I do not have to regear the driveshafts?

5) If I can't regear with just the A580 as I'm expecting - will 3.73's be OK for 17x9 rims with 35" duratracs and the 3.6L engine?

6) Do I need a different tire carrier with this?

Thanks so much for your helpful advice!!!

1) the connectivity group comes with the upgraded info cluster as well, worth it in my opinion.

3) no, you can re calibrate for changed differential gears and tire size so that the transmission shifts at the proper speed. I highly suggest doing this. it is more important than regearing. if your tranny doesnt know the right time to shift because it thinks you have 31's when you have 35's it will drive like crap and your speedo will be way off.

4) you do not regear driveshafts, you regear axles. and yes you should regear when installing larger tires. it will be driveable though, I drove on 37's with 3.73's for a while.

6) you should get a new tire carrier, but if you arent doing any heavy wheeling the stock should be able to handle a 35 for a while.

I would get the connectivity group but the base 130 stereo if you plan to upgrade. I wouldn't waste your time (or money) on any Chrysler audio heads. They are total crap. I have the alpine speakers in mine and added an aftermarket head unit and was very pleased after I got it dialed in and added a powered subwoofer. Originally I was going to rip out the speakers too, and may still, but I've been very happy so far. My audio build thread in my sig has all the details.

You are buying a brand Jeep and building it which is substantial outlay of funds. It seems to me based upon your choices you are trying to do this right. So called "driveable" should be good enough. The gears make or break the performance of you Jeep. Put the right gear ratio in the differentials even at the expense of some of the mods starting with the rims if necessary.

Look at the gear and pick the best gears for your needs (4.56 are popular with 35s) and look at the difference compared to the 3.73s.
