Nice! White and red (mine) are my favorite. The SRT had a fatal flaw for me. The Captain's chairs are standard- you can't get the bench and I needed the bench. It's one of the few vehicles that'll fit my very tall (when she is sitting) German Shepherd, GSD mix AND a cattle dog. I know the Captains fold but then you also have a weird gap. Couldn't see spending more and not serving the purpose I needed it for.
That and pulling up to a furniture store and watching the on people's faces when I start loading up...makes it (kind of) ok.
But I do plan to add a Corsa exhaust to make me feel better.

Durango 2nd row captians chairs?
The Jeep comes with the 2nd row split bench, I did see the captians chair in the Durango and I quite liked them, but, your point about folding them for space is a good one.
We went with the Jeep SRT over the Durango... several small things we preferred, but, being 11" shorter made it a perfect fit in our garage, and, we didn't need a 3rd row, or the extra 11".

While I am a fan of the real Dodge Hemi, what they sell nowadays as a "Hemi" is a fairly crappy powerplant. It is more about marketing then it is about being a Hemi. And while my father would likely roll over in his grave if he could hear my say this (he was a Plymouth / Dodge guy) I would rather have a small block Chevy. It is a more advanced powerplant, with better horsepower to weight and fewer problems. There is alot a better aftermarket to get even more power out of the Chevy.
I wish Dodge (and if Plymouth was around anymore, them too) would get their shit together. I would rather want an FCA powerplant. But they are really sucking hind tit when it comes to the big three and their engine technology. Even Ford is ahead right now. WTF?

I have herd, and I agree, that the 5.7 "hemi" will be gone soon. The days of a V8 in anything but a pickup is numbered. The I4 and V6 turbo is the future. They are great when new but how long things will last is the question.

That started off of a website that's part forum/part gathered news from the internet. It stated it was a "rumor" and conjectured about how the engine would be built. Literally no facts to back it up and no sources. Dodge actually did a press release after saying the HEMI wasn't going anywhere. That said rumors can start with truth so we'll see.
But right now all their ads are for screaming, loud, sporty cars so it'd seem like they have to make a serious departure from that. I got engaged driving a V6 turbo with 500 HP down a drag strip- so I can appreciate a (good) turbo engine. But I still prefer my HEMI. Maybe it's just 'cuz I am old now.

The problem is that the EPA is dictating to the Mfg what can be built. The expected or "rated" MPG is all that matters. Don't you think the JL would have a V8 option if they could.

I think V8s are here to stay a bit longer.

Ford is about to release a 7.3 V8 gasoline engine and GM already signaled to respond with an even larger engine.

In the meantime Hollywood people are preaching fuel economy, while the 'bad' guys in their movies are still driving muscle cars.

Ha-ha, can you imagine an action movie where the main character is driving a Prius or a Volt?

Sure a hemi can fit in a wrangler, but there is literally no clearance around it. It's not because of the EPA. It's because it wouldn't pass the crash testing. Hell, FCA has already said a RAM hellcat TRX will be out in a 2022, with a V8.

"So while some of the media is saying that it sounds like the 6.2-liter Supercharged HEMI HELLCAT V8 is out of the picture in the future, it is still very much a key powertrain well into the mid-2020s. FCA has already announced a HELLCAT-powered Ram TRX coming in 2022. We have even heard about another FCA vehicle getting equipped with the 700+ horsepower engine in 2021 (more details to follow)."

EPA is why we have a 4-cylinder Wrangler after a 12-year absence.

As hit on above, it’s because they didn’t leave any room to pass crash standards. JL was the opportunity to design and properly fit a V8, instead they went the diesel route.

Forget the 5.7, I want a 6.4L! Already swapped in SRT seats and steering wheel, a 6.4L would be icing on the cake. Will just have to live with a supercharger for now...

My 6.4 will get me into trouble sooner than later. It's hard enough just keeping the tires from chirping from stop to starts and turns and I'm just barely feathering the pedal. WAY more smiles per gallon than my 5.7.

How is a Hemi in the JK's engine bay in terms of accessibility for repairs?

Most importantly is there engough room in the JK' engine bay for Hemi's cylinder heads to be taken off without engine removal?

Of coruse this may not matter much to those with unlimited funds and their mechanics doing the "dirty' work for them, but if you are the one working on the engine, then this is something very much to consider. So it would be nice to know (my post#8 in this thread shows a good reason why).

Anyone ever saw a Hemi's with a pulled cylinder head while in a JK .

But the current Hemi comes with some issues, that may make you wish you kept Pentastar:
On the Hemi you need to remove the cylinder head in order to change the valve lifters, which (if used with 5W20 'miraculously') fail on just like on Pentastar.
Also on the Hemi the Solenoid Controlled 2-Stage Oil Pump is mounted on the crakshaft, which makes it a whole lot harder to change than the same type pump of the Pentastar.

Pentastar is one of THE best among current engines of it's class (V6).
Yes, the oil cooler assembly is it's achilles heel, but that is so easy to change, even a caveman can do it (regardless of how many softies are crying about it).
I'll take the stock car sounding LS3 over a Hemi any day.

I have that same problem since I put the Pedel Commander on my 3.8 JK 2 door.
