Installing a Backup camera with the Mopar RBZ 430 Radio

Hello, I want to install a backup camera in my jeep. I have a JKU 2013 with the RBZ 430 radio. This is the radio that has NO navigation (See Picture attached). I want to know if someone has successfully been able to display the camera in this radio? I know the radio needs to be flashed to enable the camera option but I am not even sure if this radio model will support a camera. I ordered a OBD2 Scanner and JSCAN application to get the camera option enabled.

I am particularly interested in the Alpine Camera HCE-TCAM-WRA. Alpine says that the camera is compatible with ANY jeep starting 2007 models. I am willing to go with other cameras if this Alpine is not an option.

Basically my question is, has any of you been able to display a camera in the Mopar RBZ 430 Panel?

Many Thanks,

Yes, look at the JScan application. You will also need a Bluetooth adopter.

On Amazon.com there is the following review

The installation was pretty straight forward, but I would add that you need the camera harness adapter Alpine Electronics ALP-HRN-CAMCH Camera Input Harness for the HCE-TCAM1-WRA, Rear View Camera System & 2007-2017 Jeep Wrangler Factory Display if you wish to use with the stock touch screen stereo. I have the non-nav stereo 430 and it works fine.

Amazon delivered the alpine harness, obd adapter for Jscan, and a camera today. Iíll be putting this set up on this weekend. Maybe the best $50 mod

Good luck. I think you will be fine. I do not believe navigation is the key here, I think it is the 430 model itself. It is an easy and affordable mod for sure.

Thanks. Where do I tap into it? At the rear of the Jeep? Or near the head unit?

I tapped into it at the rear of the Jeep by the right hand tail light.
