Interior Lights won't come on

Alright guys, i have done a lot of research. I have also checked EVERYTHING i know to check. The Jeep is a 2012 Sahara Unlimited. The dome lights will not come on when you open the door or when you turn the knob on the turn signal lever. All of the door connections are connected. I unplugged all of them and plugged them back in to be sure. It shows on the display when the doors are open so i know they are registering. I can dim the gauge cluster lights with the knob on the turn signal lever but when you turn it all the way up it does not turn the dome lights on. I can manually push the buttons on the dome lights to turn them on but i need them to come on when i open the doors. Is there anything i'm missing that can be checked?

Thanks in Advance,
Joe

I had the same problem, I have the same year & model as you do. Just bought mine last August, new to the Jeep world....so......here's what I did....I leave my lights on AUTO on the turn signal lever. Turn the dome lights on manually, leave them on, then shut the door....wait a minute-they should go off by themselves. Next time you open the door they should go on, then off. You just need to wait while they go off themselves.
Never found a "setting" just tried this and it works. Good luck-let me know if it works.

Was this a single event or all the time? I've done this a bunch of times. If you leave a door open or ajar enough that the interior lights stay on and leave it that way for awhile eventually the lights will go out. Then the next morning when you open the door the lights don't come on. It's because you left a door open/ajar. Shut the door, open again and the lights go on. I've had this happen a lot, especially when working on the Jeep or loading/unloading things.

Well, they worked until I had to take it to the dealership to have some work done to it. When I got it back they wouldn't come on. So I don't know if they left the doors open too long or what. I tried taking it back for them to look at them but they wanted to charge $50 just to look at it. I wasn't feeling that when it was their fault in the first place. I am trying what Debbie said above and see if that works. I turned on all the lights manually and then shut the doors and now waiting until they go off. If this doesn't work then I'm at a loss.

It sounds like the service department may have done what was described in post #4.

Tried everything mentioned above today and still nothing. I guess tomorrow I'm gonna start looking at wires and make sure everything looks ok and see if I can find the culprit.

Exclamation

Joe you said in your previous post that it worked until you took it to the dealer.....so...... Make sure the back gate and all doors are closed tight when you exit your Jeep. I learned you really have to slam the doors and especially the back gate hard.
Anyway....turn dome lights on manually, exit Jeep and wait for them to go out. Once they are out, open door, they should go back on. Sorry to repeat but I just can't imagine them not working, if they worked before. Hate to beat a dead horse.......I've never had another problem once I did the initial set up.
So sorry you are frustrated.

P.S. There are girls that belong to this forum too, we hate it when you "guys" say "guys"...

My apologies Debbie! Yes, all doors are shut. I did turn the dome lights on manually and waited till they shut off. They did come on when I opened the door but stay on even after I crank it.. so that still didn't fix the problem.

I have trouble with mine on my 08. The lights come on when I open my door but I can not turn them on manually with the turn signal switch.
