Jeep "Sputtering"

To all,

I searched on here and only found threads for the TJ or other models.
I have an 08 X, 6 speed, 3.8.
About a month ago I noticed that she started "sputtering" when under load.

Its mainly in 1st and 2nd gear, to the point I almost stalled out.
It also threw a CEL, and said it was an EGR issue. I replaced the EGR valve and that solved my issue for a while.

Yesterday it started again. This time it seems alot worse, and I can hear some backfiring and it smells like rotten eggs. It throws a CEL only when it occurs. The CEL goes away when the issue solves itself (usually when I give it ALOT of gas). I have zero idea what it is as I have checked the plugs, and plug wires.

All the threads on here for other models point to the IAC or the Throttle Positions Sensor (which I cannot find for my jeep).

Any help would be great.

Hope you all have a good Christmas!

Sorry to say, but we'd just be guessing.
I'd take it to a shop and have them diagnose. I hate to see people spend more money trying to guess at it, rather than pay a competent tech.

Merry Christmas!

What are you using to check codes? Can you pull up historical codes to see what caused the CEL?

I use the torque pro app and a bluetooth adapter and I can see everything.

Usually rotten egg smell comes from a bad cat converter. The advice above about having it checked out is probably your best bet.
