Kenwood stereo plan...

2013 JKU 10A w/ 730N

I picked out the DDX9903S for a head unit. Thought about the 893, but I've gotten so used to using my phone for nav, that I can't imagine ever using the Garmin, as nice as it is.

The end result is to have steering wheel controls, but for now, I was going to run my Infinity components straight to the head unit. If that ends up not being enough, I'll get an aftermarket amp later.

I was planning to order:

Metra 95-6511 - dash kit
iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR Maestro RR - adapter
iDatalink Maestro ADS-HRN-RR-CH1 CH1 - harness

I think the Maestro is a little overkill, but seems plug and play. Since I don't really want to use the stock amp, should I just skip it altogether? It's adding $130 to the price.

I have read about some people using the PAC harness, with the complaint that they lost the ability to fade the rear speakers, but since I will be running them to the head unit, I figure it will handle that.

Any reason I'd actually want to keep UCOnnect? It seems like the radio will do everything it will, but probably better.

I installed the DDX9903S in my 2012 JK and love it. Has pretty much everything you would want. Really bought it for CarPlay! I am using the amp in the radio and has been sufficient so far. My 2012 doesn't have much in terms of steering wheel controls, so I didn't mess with the more advanced Maestro units. I ordered my radio via Crutchfield and they do a great job recommending all the accessories to install the radio. UConnect in my opinion is overpriced crap. I highly recommend cutting the back metal bracket in 1/2 in order to maintain the screw mount for the upper dash. See my other posts on that. Works great after the radio is installed.
