Lacking power or being limited by something????

So I noticed when trying to do a break stand in a dirt lot for sh!ts and giggles the engine will only rev to 2500rpms. It would not break the rear free from the brake death grip. Is there something limiting the rpms to stop idiots like me from breaking things or does it sound like there is another issue?

Sounds like the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and/or the Traction Control System (TSC) were trying to keep things from spinning. There are several pages of the specifics in your owner's manual (not the owner's guide) on how to disable those features and what conditions triggers each one to come on.

I am having similar problems with my 2011 sahara 2dr manual trans.I offroad mainly in soft sand on NC coast, run in 4 hi,when it reaches 3000/3500 rpms the power falls off.It doesn't run fast enough to shift to second. The few times I have got into 2nd it would not gain any speed, even with pedal on the floor nothing.I drove it about 3/4 mile like this, it didn't seem the throtle body was opening in relation to the gas pedal, the computer was in control.does this sound familiar?THANKS
