Making the switch to Rubi Shocks/Springs

Well I went ahead and ordered 17/59 Rubi springs with the red shocks and I am totally pumped to put them on my 2013 2 door sport. The only question I have is-- should I put spacers on while I'm at it? Maybe just in the front? I have no idea what my current spring setup is as it looks like the tags may be ripped off. The plan is to put 33" wheels on.

Here is what the jeep looks like now without anything. I'm wondering if a 1" spacer in the front would be too much after the spring/shock installation. I don't have a winch or any extra weight in the front. Thoughts?

I'm thinking maybe a 1/2" spacer in the front with the 17/59 combo will do the trick. I don't want to overcompensate, especially since it's a stock front bumper without a winch.

Not an answer to your question, but did you seek out the springs/shocks from the local aftermarket shop? They usually have piles of new take-off shocks/springs - for heavily discounted prices. There are so many people (me included) who take their zero-mile vehicles in to be lifted, and then have virtually new parts on their hands.

I found a set of all 4 springs and the shocks for $150 on ebay. They were the same deal-- basically new take-offs.

^^^ This... Just depends on if you want a little rake or not. It may be a tad high in front at first but will settle and give you the stance most people prefer.

I will be selling my JKUR take offs in the not so distant future. I am curious what results one should expect to get out this. How much lift will you really get from those springs and shocks? How much less can be expected on a 4 door?

The 17/59 springs are from a JKU and is exactly what I had on my JKU from the factory, stock. If you are looking for the same type of lift for your JKU it can be had with factory 10A JKUR 009/006 springs. About 1.5" front and 1" rear. Here is my unit, just springs, no front 1/2" spacer, yet... 285/70/17 (33") tires...

I put 18/59's on, and also had a previously installed TerraFlex leveling kit (2" front & 1" rear spacers), and it was perfect! I eventually put on 35's, and have the clearance that I need. If you're doing 33's, I would do the leveling kit...you should have a good look and plenty of clearance.

Springs from a JKUR and a JKU use the same springs so you will not see any difference. Shocks off a Ruby however do have a bit longer travel and different valving.

Ya I know that... And That's not what I am doing. I'm not so sure you are actually reading what I am typing. So never mind. Thanks anyhow.
