mico brake loc

anyone heard or have any experience with these? I've pretty much given up on the ebrake...after pulling it down/cleaning/new pads/adjusted perfect....it still holds poor... I think probably due to the weight of the 2013 jeep JK 1000ish over factory and the tiny little pads on the ebrake inside the rotor.....anyways I was just checking these line locs out and they looked like a pretty good option maybe...

If the parking brake is "poor" then there is still something wrong with it. I have a newer JK and with the parking brake pulled all the way up I can drag the jeep with the winch and both rear wheels remain locked

Not withstanding, every vehicle is supposed to have 2 braking systems and at least one must be mechanical.

Picture your jeep parked on a hill and the hydraulic system springs a leak sometime in the night while you're sleeping. The lock becomes useless.

The mico website even (clearly) states that this is not a replacement for the parking brake.

i can't imagine what else there is to do...mechanically it works well/new pads/adjusted to 2-3 clicks on lever...works great on a small incline but bigger and the weight of the vehicle takes over.... easily 6000 wish ill bet

Cheap brake pads?
Scored rotors?

I take it this is a manual.

I drove a manual for decades and I can't remember ever using the parking brake. I always parked in 1st gear.
