I know the common answer is go manual or get a Currie Anti-rock, but I am curious if anybody has done a mod to where they could actually control the stock sway bar. I've done a bit of looking, but I don't see where anybody has. I have 2 ideas on how to accomplish it and am just curious if my ideas were original or if I was rehashing an old idea that the community has gone over and tossed out for reasons I haven't considered. What's the best control someone has achieved over the stock bar?
I am looking for more control about when I can disconnect it. When I'm in 2 wheel drive or going over the speed limit the computer decides to reconnect it at.
If you have an on onboard compressor, you can replace the troublesome computer with an air actuator like EVO. Then you can disconnect anytime you want.
You can also do that with Jscan. In both cases though there is still the stock speed limit though. For FULL control you need to pull the power head and install the air actuator or the manual push/pull cable
I have one in my Sport, wired stand alone.
I used:
off/on/momentary on switch.
12v to 9v stepdown or ballast resistor.
5 pole relay.
16 or 18 gauge wire.
soldering iron, assorted wire connectors
I have a Rubicon with the fidgety electronic disconnect. I can never remember how/when I am "allowed" to do the disconnect, and can't remember from the status lights what is going on.
So for $135 I installed a set of disconnects from Rock Krawler. Now I know when they are disconnected without having to remember what a blinking light on my dash means.
