More uses for the unlimited powertrain warranty

Time again for warranty work. at 109k miles I've got a coolant leak, passenger side front between the head and intake manifold. The real bummer is that a knock has developed on the same side of the engine. Placing a long screw driver on the valve cover as a stethoscope, I hear a knock, perhaps in the valve train. Making an appointment on Monday.
Anyone else having either issue?

I'm not having the issue, but I'm sorry to hear you are. I sure hope you get this worked out. I'm sure you're disappointed and concerned about how it's going to be resolved.

Let us know how your dealer treats you with the Lifetime Warranty at 109K miles. Do they fix it or just put on a bandaid?

Gotta love that warranty.
New passenger side valve rocker assembly......Free
New Water pump.......Free
Replace intake to head gasket......free
I pay for a new thermostat and anti-freeze.
The Jeep comes home next week. =)

the dealer is Stevens Creek Jeep in San Jose. They have no say so on repairs. The warranty is very precise as to what is and what is not covered.
Do not forget to get the 5 year free inspection or all bets are off and warranty is canceled.

I got the Mopar Maximum Care Lifetime Warranty with my 2013 sport. It is suppose to cover 5000 components. Basically everything besides body damage and the normal oil, brakes, etc. I got it mainly because I can do almost everything from the drive shafts down to the tires myself. But the engine, transmission, and transfer case I want warrantied forever. Drive it to death then have it resurrected for a $100 deductable.

Good morning. It's been a while. I thought I'd update this post with good news. The same noise that prompted FCA to replace the pass side rocker assembly resurfaced about a year ago. A few trips to the dealer resulted in the same ole "I don't hear a thing" routine from the dealer. I persisted and finally got the dealer to have one more look, that took a year. We after 10 weeks of absence from the driveway, my 2007 have a brand new engine in it. FCA asked the dealer to disassembly the lower end and found that rod 6's bearing was gone, therefore resulting in the knocking noise I'd been complaining about. Also, the rocker assembly and once again ate it self to death when a couple of studs in to the head came undone. The engine came to $5470 plus a new pass side manifold and required bits and pieces and labor to diag, and replace. I figure about $8500 total. No cost to me, not one penny. You gotta love that lifetime power train warranty.

That’s great that they covered it all, but they had it for 10 weeks? Did you get a loaner?

I did not get a loaner. It's not part of the Unlimited Powertrain Warranty. I tried but didn't happen.
They had it at one dealer for a month and then took it to their sister dealer in pleasanton for the repair. Once diagnosed it took FCA 3 weeks to approve the exchange, with a little nagging from my wife.

Good to hear they made up for it and it all worked out great for you.

In your post #4 you mentioned something that I read to be a requirement for inspection. Is that so and if so, did they ask you for any proof or were you in their system?

when they type in your VIN, they see your history and they also see you are one with the lifetime power train warranty. You have to have it inspected every 5 years, which I did. That being said. I have a warranty for the life of the Jeep, short of normal repair items.
