In case any member is interested in that brand, here's a little writeup and review of those products.
I have yet to get a metal rear bumper, but when I do I don't want a ridiculously heavy tire carrier. And I want to use my tailgate without undue complications, hence the choice of this product.
MORryde sells the hinges, tailgate reinforcement and tire carrier as 3 separate products. The hinges and tire carrier can be used standalone, but the reinforcement bracket requires the hinges.
I got all 3 on Amazon for $415. Compare to $600-700 for other brands.
First impression is that the parts are robust, welds and powdercoating are good, hardware is OK, and it's all well packaged. Instructions are good, some had a list of required tools, others didn't.
Comparison of OEM and MORryde hinges:
When removing the OEM hinges, you'll discover there's no paint underneath.
Jeep: Rusting since 1941.
Some sanding and a coat of RustOLeum rust inhibitor later, and the hinges can be installed. Took about 1 hour to do the hinge part.
And here's the complete set, installed:
Final product. I had to trim my AEV corner armor to fit the beefier hinges, and the third brake light will need some adjusting but I ran out of daylight.
First impression: assembly is easy, just take your time and when the instructions say to keep some bolt loose, do so and you'll be able to adjust the hardware. Overall fit and finish is excellent.
The gate now closes with a solid "thunk" and no more rattle. Feels like a vault. We'll see how it feels on the road tomorrow, and I'll report on it.
