Need help aligning tailgate with TF HD carrier

So after mount my Teraflex HD carrier I had issues with the tailgate not closing right after the 35" tire went on. No issues with a 33.

Today I decided to try and realign things, re-torque bolts and paint under the hinge. Well, when the tail gate was not bolted on, I open the tailgate slightly causing it to come loose. Got carrier back on and its very close to closing perfect. Any ideas how to get it linked up properly gain and remount carrier?

Did you use shims under the tailgate when you started the installation?

If you didn't that's why you're having problems now.

Try starting over and see if that helps but make sure that you measure the distance from the bumper to the bottom of the tailgate. Cut wood blocks as shims / spacers.

I'm afraid you may be stuck with just readjusting until you get it right.
Once it moved it's going to be hit n miss most likely.

If you followed the instructions before you opened the tailgate without bolts in the hinges there should have been shims under the tailgate to keep it aligned. Place the shims that should have been under the tailgate (in accordance with the instructions) before you opened the tailgate without the bolts in the hinges and the tailgate should be pretty much in the same position it was in before you took those bolts out. If you failed to use shims it will be a fit by trial and error then.

Yes used shims and was PERFET until the 35 went on. Was great with a 33. Guess the weight of the 35 and blue loctite was not enough.

Yeah I got it all lined up now. Its closing fine and I re-torqued bolts using RED Loctite.

I just got my kit installed yesterday. Used some tape on the door seams left and right, with some horizontal marks. Shimmed the door per instructions and didn't open until the job was finished. When done with the install the marks I made were still in alignment. Used blue locktite, I may want to remove this hinge one day and that red might not give without heat. Heat and painted surface is just not compatible.
