New gears and lockers

Going to regear to 4.56 and do lockers was thinking going with E lockers front and back or do something different on the front. I have D30 on the front axle.

I did exactly what you just said.....regeared to 4.56 and added elockers. I have a Sport S, which means I have a D30. I suppose if I lived out west, and played in the rocks, I might follow the advice of "don't lock a D30." But I don't, and i guess I'm ignorant enough to not know why that's all the rage.... I'm not sure how hard it is to go easy on the gas pedal?? If my Jeep won't make something once or twice, then I'll pull cable, not hammer it harder..?? I'll be the first to say that I'm not a professional, and I don't wheel for a living. My wheeling is pretty tame compared to the big guys out west. I'll give them that. But to say to never lock a D30 is painting with a pretty broad brush. You've gotta know what type of wheeling you'll be doing in order to make the proper decisions for yourself. For the record, I've been very happy with my set up. No issues at all, and so far my 30 is still in one piece.

Ive lockered a dana 30 and never had issues. With that being said you are taking a risk. If you are planning on upgrading to a PR44 then I would save your pennies and do that and just wheel your jeep how it is. Why have to spend money twice? And as far as lockers it is all a matter of preference. Some will say air and some will say e-locker. It is really up to you and what you want to use. Me personally would run a air locker. with braided lines. But that is me.Hope this helps and do what is right for you and your jeep.
