P0740 code error

Have a 2011 unlimited 3.8 and keep getting a P0740 code error. I was told to change both the valve body and the vehicle's torque converter. As this is too expensive, are there any other reasons I could be getting this message? So far, there is no change in the car's performance/noise.

Could be as simple as a dirty connector. Might affect your gas mileage due to less torque converter efficiency.

Thanks! I'll look into it!
So far no problems with milage. Just my battery died yesterday... don't know if it has to do with the error I'm getting
