Phone is pissing me off.

Starting yesterday everytime I start my JKU the radio comes on for 5-10 seconds and then the phone comes on and cancels the radio. The timer starts but it doesn't dial a number. I have to hit the stop button to get the radio to come back on. I have the i phone 4s in my pocket which is synced to the radio.

Any ideas?

Are you activating Siri? By accidentally hitting the main button on your iPhone? Or take steering wheel button? Any aftermarket stereo stuff?

Has happened too many times to accidentally hit the Siri or the steering wheel, all stock.

Uconnect will only go out of the radio mode to hands free mode when the phone sends a BT message to Uconnect that it's placing a call or when you press the Uconnect buttons. If you see the timer is going but no call placed, then SIRI is being activated. Apple places a simulated call to your voice mail when SIRI or Visual voice mail is activated. I understand that you believe that it's not happening but I'm pretty sure that it is.
Now instead of you pressing the "end" tab when this happens next time, ride it out for a couple minutes, do you finally hear "Call completed"?

If so then please humor me and when take the phone out of your pocket to see if it does it then.
Another thing that I'd suggest is to reboot the phone. (Not a factory reset) Do this by holding the home and power buttons till the Apple is displayed then release them. The phone will reboot now. This is not the same as turning the phone off and back on.

please let us know what happens, okay.

Aftahour,
I offered some insight and after we work on getting the current issue handled, then we'll send him to the SIRI update area.

I did do the reboot as you described and have not had it happen yet today. If it does I'll let it run and let you know the results.

Thanks for the help.

No problem at all. I have to reboot my iPhone a couple times a month for issues other than just BT related. There are times when outside the vehicle, I don't get call or message notifications at all. Then I'll look and see that I have missed calls and messages. What happens is that when we are using an APP and leave it to another APP or exit it, we assume that it's completely closed. However they're not. They are still open and working in the background. with several of them going, it slows down the processor and the phone acts oddly. This happens on all these phones, my kids have the Samsung S4 & S3, my buddy has an HTC ONE etc and they all have to be rebooted to close the APPS. I have my family do it randomly just to keep from having problems. There are ways to go in and manually close each APP but I find it works better to do the rebooting.

I'm sure that I mentioned that all these new "smartphones" have to be rebooted from time to time. Just like our computers do, they get slowed down and things don't work well, battery life diminishes, etc. I have had IPhone's at work as well as Android devices and have 5 of them in our family. 2 of my kids have to reboot them almost weekly because they're always using them for games, YouTube etc. So in this particular case an "Android" wouldn't be much different.
Now as a disclaimer kinda thing, I do like my NOTE 3 much better than any of the IPhone's I've had. I guess it's just a personal preference.
