Popping and creaking when turning in 4lo

I'm assuming it's th UJoints/ball joints causing this though I'm unsure and just want to double check before replacing things.

I wheel frequently and am around 60k miles.
I noticed this last weekend while I was out there was a lot of noise coming from my wheels when turning. It was almost like a popping and scraping. Would this be from the UJoints?

If so, what should I replace with if I'm looking to upgrade?

First place I would look is the front driveshaft where it meets the transfercase.

For a replacement ujoint if it is your knuckle ujoints, look at spicer life joints. The non serviceable joints are stronger. It's up to you.

What should I be looking for?

Are you thinking a broken cv boot?

If it is joints.... 2WD, 4LO, 4HI... no difference you will hear those joints every time you turn.

Bad bearings in the joint. Disconnect it from the pinion and pull the shaft in and out looking for any play at that joint.
