Power window issue

Last Saturday the wife and I were out running around X-Mas shopping and stopped for fuel. Upon leaving the store, the JKs electric windows would not go down, but would go up only ( they were in halfway position at the time.

Got to the next store, wife hopped out and I parked the jeep, listened to the radio and messed with the window switches with no luck. I turned the jeep off and went into the store. When we came out and were leaving the parking lot the Windows both worked ?

Read some here about this happening once to some people and never occurring again. Well, yesterday this did happen to me again ! I simply pulled off roadway, turned vehicle off, and restarted it.......and all worked again ???

Has anyone else had this issue occure more than once? Identified the issue ?

We have had it since new without issue until now, and it is under warranty but it's a PIA to drop off at the dealership.

In most cases when that happens, and it happens to practically every JK at one time or another, is to cycle the ignition like you did. If it continues you can disconnect the battery for a minute or two. That basically will re-boot the computer to recognize the input from the window switches in this case. If that doesn't seem to take care of it you might need a trip to the dealer.

I had this happen only once. I found a thread on the forums that said how the system just needs to recycle. I turned it on and off a couple times. Never had it occur again (knock on wood).

Thanks! Just causes me a little concern since it ha happened twice in a week, but not since thankfully ! When it does happen, the Windows will go up, but not down so they are not losing power.

MY 2007 JKU rubicon did it once at a drivethru window--up but no down. Cycling the key fixed it. My friend's 2012 JKU rubicon did it to him once also. My 2015 JK rubicon has manual windows. No problem.

After the battery trick try checking the electric connectors for dampness
