Project SHAKACON

Bought my 2008 JK Rubicon last summer. Since then, I've done all of the typical little (inexpensive) things like plastidip wheels and grille, chopped the fenders, added K&N, hacked the front bumper, added new LED headlights, an Alien sunshade, and Raingler nets. So far, ol' Shaka is coming right along.

Today, I ordered:
  • wheel/tire combo...Mickey Thompson Baja ATZP3 (35") on 17" Mickey Thompson Classic III wheels (black).
  • Teraflex 2.5" coil lift with shocks
  • Teraflex adjustable track bar
  • Teraflex steering stabilizer
I realize that upon completion of this project, a new tire carrier will be required...that will come as soon as I sell off the stock wheels/tires.

Any tips you guys want to impart before I put Shaka up on jack stands tonight and start tearing things down?

I have the TF 2.5" lift on the wife's Jeep. I'd suggest something to correct caster, either lower control arms up front or correction brackets.
If you wheel a lot then do CAs, if not the rancho CA bracket is really nice. We used the Rancho bracket. Rancho JK Control Arm Correction Brackets

As far as install:
Make sure you do your final torque on the ground under load.
Remove the factory retainer clips on the rotors prior to wheel install.

Good luck

Thanks! I just remembered one more thing to contend with when done...will the computer require an adjustment to account for the larger tires? I have a Scangauge II that I assume will work for this. I've only used it to check codes on my family's cars and used it for the longest time in a Prius to do various things. I haven't really used it much since I sold the Prius a couple of years ago so I'll need to take it out of the drawer its buried in and refamiliarize myself with it!

Don' think that will work.

I just added the tereflex adjustable Lower control arms to mine and kick myself everyday for not doing it sooner. The correction makes a huge drivability difference.

Hey...can you link me to the exact set of CAs you installed? I'm guessing that's something I'll probably do as well...but I'm gonna have to let my wallet breathe for a few weeks first!
