Quadratec Heated LEDs

Quadratec now had their own line of heated LED headlights. They're made by JW Speaker. Has anyone gotten them yet? Website says they're plug and play, so I don't know if they'll need a PWM or not. They look nice and I'm seriously considering them.

Subscribed! Would like to see how these buggers perform compared to my Qtec Gen 1’s which I still love.

Those are the JW Speaker 8700 EVO 2 Dual Burn with Smart Heat. As far as I know they are not plug and play and will require an anti-flicker harness. The JK specific light the J2 has dual burn but does not have Smart Heat and is plug and play.

Now it say it comes with a plug and play wire kit so that may be the anti flicker harness.

There will be no comparison, the JW Speakers will be night and day better in performance.

I was afraid of that! Might be a Christmas gift to me this year. I read on Quadratec’s site and it states plug n’ play? I can solder so no biggie but rather the latter.

When I read plug and play I am assuming there is no anti flicker harness. I have no doubt they are plug and play they just include the anti flicker harness.

Well I submitted a question to Quadratec asking if a PWM was needed and here was the response "No, that is built into the light"

Well the light does not show up on JW Speakers web sight. And you know they would sell it if it was available. In fact they point to the J2 for the JK which again does not have the heater. Also when looking at the Quadratec it says it comes with 2 wiring harnesses. It is was plug and play, i.e. just hook up the light it would not.

In the end it makes no difference, anti flicker built in or a separate harness, it will still work. Hell I run a anti flicker harness and a high 4 module (Dual Burn). Back then no one had anti flicker built in and Vision X was the only company to offer Dual Burn functionality. And as much as I like these new lights there is no way I am spending another $600 bucks on head light when mine are perfect and the only thing this buys me is the heater.

Follow up- I was reading the description section of these on the JW website and it states that for a Jeep install you should look to the J2 series.

Jeep Installation:
Looking to install on your 2007+ Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Wrangler Unlimited? You want our Model 8700 Evolution J2 Series, designed with plug & play installation for Jeeps.

Follow up to my follow up..... Went ahead and cancelled my J2 series LED order and just place an order for Quadratec's version of the JW Speaker heated LED headlight..... A little bit more in $$$, but I am really concerned about the possible winter freeze over that may occur with unheated LED's. I'm in PA and we do get some good snow and ice here in my parts. The only downside to ordering is it appears Quadratec does not have in stock yet and they are on pre-order . Hopefully will not take too long to arrive!

Ah I wonder if this is why you do not see the heated version of the J2 available yet on the JW Speaker web site.

Quadratec just updated my order for the heated LED's to "backordered" from processing. Seems this confirms that JW Speaker has yet to manufacture the new headlights and is why there not on their website yet. I PM'd and emailed Quadratec for an approximate ship date but have not heard back yet. Will post when/if I hear back for those interested. Nothing worse than waiting for that next mod to arrive!!

The lack of such might be what's behind QuadraTec's use of the word "exclusively".
