Rampage rear bumper with rampage hitch

I just received the rear rampage bumper and their hitch. I have included pictures of the back side of the hitch and bumper. The hitch has two bolts that attach the hitch to the bumper on the bottom side of bumper. Then they have these two long bolts that go through the hitch to the bumper. I measured inside the rear of the bumper and the hitch and it is 3" X3" gap. I was thinking of welding a 3"X3" x10" long piece of steel in behind this for more support to the hitch and bumper.
My other thought was to sandwich this piece of metal between the two long 6" bolts (you see in picture only one side has bolt in it). I want to check the strength of these bolts and replace if not the best . let me know your thoughts

I'm thinking about this bumper, let me know how you like it after it's installed.

Sorry I can't help with your question though.

Installed Rampage rear bumper and Hitch

Installed the Rampage rear bumper with hitch today on 2014 Rubicon unlimited. Took off the original Mattel vacuform jeep rear bumper. Also had to remove the existing factory hitch. The factory hitch is sandwiched by the rear support frame with 4 bolts going through the hitch, frame, back into hitch. Pictures will show this hitch. Removed the rear tow hook on driver side, which is attached to frame. I installed the light kit in the rear bumper and noticed once the bumper is in place must remove bumper to change light bulbs. Lined the bumper up and bolt in just like the original bumper. Big difference is weight and if something hits the rear end it will be hitting a metal bumper. Once bumper was in place bolted on the hitch, which uses 2 bolts to attach to the bottom of the bumper by receiver. Then there are 2 long 6” bolts that go through the hitch and sandwich the jeep rear frame and then go back into the bumper. The only difference I can see with the Rampage hitch vs. the factory hitch is: Factory hitch has 4 bolts that go through the frame and Rampage has 2 bolts. I will have to make a bracket to hold the 4-prong wire plug for the trailer lights.

Looks good. Do you think the Rampage hitch will be as strong as the factory?

I think it will be fine it is sandwiched between the frame rail, just like the factory one. The only difference I can tell is the factory 4 bolts instead of 2 through the frame. There are two other bolts on the rampage that attach it at the bottom of the bumper which the factory hitch doesn't have. I don't know what they need to do, to have it rated, but they should.
