Raxiom Smoked LED Headlights?

Anyone have any experience with the Raxiom Smoked LED headlights? I can't find much in regards to reviews or pictures of the spread.

I've heard good things about the Raxiom brand, but just can't find anything about their headlights.

Pic's appreciated!!

Someone that actually wants a dimmer headlight? Mind blown.

Looking at smoked lights, they are generally illegal from the forum posts that I'm seeing that lead back to state statutes.

Do they actually make a non-smoked one? This is the only one I can see for JK's. I'm kind of a automotive noob.

Also, suggestions on alternatives in the same price range would be great.

Not sure if they do or not. I just did a quick internet search of them. What are you wanting out of the new headlights is a good place to start.

Edit: What's your price range?

You have KC, Trucklights, Quadratec, JW Speaker etc etc. I run JW speaker EVO J, as the stock lights are incredibly dim.

I've been looking at Trucklights, or Quadratec. I really just want brighter/wider spread and around the $400 range. I work closing shift so night driving is an everyday thing and would like to try out night time wheeling at some point.

Either should do you well. Depending on where you live, you may want to check out the heated Trucklight LEDs as well. Most vendors on this forum will give you a forum member discount as well.

I have no experience with any other light other than the JW Speaker EVO J. They can light up a 4 lane roadway very well and have a hell of a throw on them. I no longer have a use for my high beams.

Also check out the new Ether headlights. kjeeper10 has a set and they are doing great.

EDIT: By the way, I thought the Raxiom might just be another import, and they don't claim DOT in their description, but a quick look at the lens shows the DOT markings are there...

I'm glad you pointed that out! The lenses aren't actually smoked on those lights. They are indeed completely clear glass. The smoked part that is in the title refers to the color of the housing behind the projectors, which doesn't effect the light in any way.

I'm going to have that changed out as soon as I can. Thank you!

If anyone else has any questions about those lights I'd be happy to answer them. Just let me know!

Yes indeed, like the JWS's "appear" smoked but its actually just the background.
Lenses are Clear.

That has to be a different light. These are integral LED and there isn't a stock bulb or any bulb to change for that matter.

That is indeed a completely different light. The light in that thread has a smoked lens which is what Stitches feared these Jeep lights had. As stated above, these lights have completely clear lenses and the lights are VERY bright with a sharp cutoff and excellent beam pattern.

If anyone else has any other questions just let me know!

Anyone on WF bought these yet? This is a new player in the DOT headlight arena, and I'd love to see a report.

If you check out the product in question, you will see that they are not actually smoked. It's simply the housing holding the projectors that is black, the lens is clear.

Correct! I had them remove "smoked" from the name and description as it was incorrect and misleading. These lights are bright!

Ryan, these lights are specified as 6000 K, which is borderline blue-ish and, to me, not a comfortable shade of light. What - "smoked" LED - headlights would you suggest that are at 5000 K? I should also add that I like the pricing, the design and I'd trust the Raxiom brand.

I didn't notice much of a blue tint to those headlights, but it's up to you! I did a quick search but couldn't find too much info on the color temp of other LED headlights. I'll see what I can find, but at this time I don't have a recommendation for you. Sorry!

Thanks for your reply, Ryan! I guess it's an easy enough install that I can get, install and if the shade is not to my liking I can always return. I would also get the Raxiom fogs, the Recon LED turn signal and side marker lights. Would you work out a package deal for me (being a cyber Monday and all)? Let me know. Thanks!!

P.S. I already have the smoked Recon tail lights and center brake light installed!

A shoutout to Ryan - XTRyan - for setting me up with the Raxiom LED headlights, fog lights and Recon LED turn/running lights and side markers. And for addressing an issue with the headlights in a heartbeat. Thanks Ryan!!

Overall impression so far; the headlights need getting used to as they have a distinct pattern and ultra brightness - specially when behind a white car...I used to always run my headlights and fogs at all times, well now it's way too bright for that.

As for installation, headlights were a snap, although I had to do some vertical adjustments and some shimmying for horizontal adjustments. Fog lights were a bit harder. I chose to work on them from above the bumper by removing the bumper-to-grille cover. It was harder than the headlights, but not by much. The turn lights were easy, but found out after trial-and-error that I had to install resistors, which I did and all is good. The toughest were the side markers. Had to undo the first two closest to the side marker plastic rivets that hold the fender flare to the inner liner, pulled the fender flare out a bit and got the side marker out. I used the bulb socket to connect to the Recons. Instructions for the Recons were nonexistent and cryptic at best. Called them up with an issue, never heard back. I had to figure things out myself.

Final thoughts; I like the look of the Recon clear side markers on my white fender. I like the smoked turn signal on my black grille, but certainly needs to be a bit brighter. And I like the look of the headlights and fogs - jury still out on the actual nighttime effectiveness as they still need some adjusting - as I'm getting hand gestures and a lot of flashing...

I assume, like all other LED headlight brands, there will be icing issues?

Ryan was helpful in getting me setup with a pair of the Raxiom LED headlights and fog lights. Naturally headlight install was a piece of cake. Fog lights tougher when working inside the bumper. I've only had them on 2 days so far, and like the light output of the headlights. Easy to re-aim as well as I marked garage with the old lights. Not sure about the fog lights yet. Will get some pics shortly.

I doubt it. I checked the headlight surface after it was on a few minutes and it was warm to the touch.
