Rear drivers door won't open

Recently my rear drivers door has decided it no longer wants to open. The power locks will flip locked and unlocked but there is no resistance when pressing the handle button from the outside and if you pull the latch from the inside the door does not pop open.

Waiting for warmer weather up here in Michigan before I bother trying to tear the door open to repair/replace what I might need to.

Is there something other than the whole latch mechanism I should look at - how hard is that to change out if that's the case?

you just need to hit the handle with a rubber mallet while at the same time pressing the button outside. it will open after a couple good whacks. then you can access the interior panel easy enough to remove it. you just need to lube everything up real good with some white lithium grease.

mine did the same thing on that side. the rear passenger side is like that now, but like you, its too freakin cold to mess with it!

For those that get it, no explanation is needed. For those that don't, no explanation is possible.

Yeah I'm not sure a BFH is gonna help - there is zero resistance when you press the button outside - like on the other doors you can feel the resistance when you press the button - this has none.

But yeah - this is a wait till its warmer outside project - might have to just try and take it apart closed from the inside.

Bump.
Any luck with this? Mine came up with the same problem this weekend. Cant open the door. I can feel the power locks opening and closing the lock, but cant get it open. Cant get the door open to take it apart! How can I get the door apart if I cant open it up?

I haven't tried yet mostly because the weather hasn't been too cooperative up here yet (rain, cold, snow etc)
