Satelite radio antenna connected to outside antenna?

It's called my dealer about removing the outside antenna and covering the hole with a trail rated badge.they told me my satellite radio uses the same antenna I did not think this was the case but they insisted it was.can some one tell me if this is fact or fiction?

Your dealer is an idiot.

Antennas are designed for the frequencies that they are intended to receive, an antenna designed for a car am/fm radio will not work on a satellite radio.

The last I checked, the satellite antenna is mounted on the sports cage, on the passenger side. So, X2, your dealer is an idiot.

Agreed. Too generic to call the dealer an idiot. Could be the service writer, service manager, or the LOF tech. I know which ones I want to work on my rig, and so does the service writer. I have great confidence in about half of the guys that work at the local place. The rest, well, I try to keep them away from the rig. Even on oil changes.
