SkyJacker 2.5" Lift with Lower Control Arms

So just like so many others on here I getting ready to pull the trigger on my first lift for my 17' Big Bear Edition JKU. I tried doing some research if anyone else had installed the Skyjacker 2.5" Standard Lift Kit with Lower Arms and came back empty.

Just wanted to get some honest opions before I shell out the cash. Only looking to do a 2.5" or 3" lift and not sure if it's worth doing the lower CA's or do a different kit with the geo brackets.

Any advice is appreciated

Welcome to the forum,

I have no direct experience with the Skyjacker lineup. I have heard not so great reviews from Jeepers but the seem to have decent in the truck world.

As far as lowers, yes I recommend them fully with 2.5 and above.

That is a bottom of the barrel lift, in my opinion. There are a lot of better lifts out there. The shocks and springs aren't going to be very good. Also, the rear track bar bracket is not a very good design.
If you do a 2.5" lift you will almost certainly want some sort of caster correction. I would recommend geometry brackets, like from Rancho, to correct caster over control arms. The geometry brackets correct caster AND correct the angle of the control arms, improving the ride quality.

That is exactly my experience with them, I'm new to the Jeep world and only want to do this once. I've heard too many horror stories of people having to spend so much additional money to do things right. I would rather spend more the first time and not touch it again.

I am real happy with the Rock Krawler stock mod on my JKU. I added Bilstein shocks and Currie front lower control arms and a Rubicon Express front track bar. Very pleased.

I have a mix of BDS and Currie on my TJ. The Teraflex, AEV, and Metalcloak also get rave reviews. I would recommend any of those. Rough Country and Skyjacker would not be on my radar.
