Smittybilt XRC solenoid mounting help

How does this sit flush with the wires?
I assume wires go outside on inside where the rope goes.

How you have the wires are correct. Once attache they will mostly make a loop on the back sitting down behind the winch.

How bad are the scratches. Unless its a lot I think its normal coming from Smittybilt. I think they test them before packaging.

How was it installing the solenoid onto the winch? I recall wrestling with that part of it for over an hour! The silver "legs" on the solenoid were very hard to get in position and also insert the set screws at the same time. I feel like it was bad engineering that made those "legs" the way they are.

Pain in the with the little brackets that secure in back. Going to make or figure out a better way of securing. Stupid design.

You could mount it on the side. That seems like a better mounting spot. However, I agree with the two of you the legs weren't well thought out. I mounted mine in the center and I am still debating moving it over. Even asked my wife her opinion just today. At this point it's all mounted and done so I'll probably just leave it alone. Line speed seems pretty quick. Overall, I am pretty happy with it. Is it the best... Doubt it. Will it work for my needs? I hope so.
