soft top mounting bracket question

I have a 2013 2-door JKS with a hard top, and just purchased an OEM 2012 soft top off of Craig's List. It came with everything except for the mounting brackets which I know I will need to purchase. I know they changed the mounting brackets for 2013, so when I put on the 2012 brackets will they fit in the same pre-drilled holes or will I need to drill new holes in the roll bar?

I am pretty sure it is a bracket change only. The holes should be the same.

I have the same thing with a 2013 4 door and a 2012 4 door top. I do NOT have the brackets yet though.

It looks like the 2013-2014 bracket is significantly different. I am assuming I need to buy a pair of 2012 brackets to fit the 2012 soft top on my 2013 Wrangler. Does that sound correct?

Of course, the 2013 brackets are about 1/3 the cost.

The mounting holes are the same. So the earlier brackets will mount up just fine. I think the issue is with the '14 premium tops having a spring assist for lowering the top.
