Speed sensitve volume 430n

So I have read the threads on the speed sensitive volume or the doubters therein. I also can confirm my audio gets noticeably lower at a stop light than when I am at full speed. I don't know or care what the audio source is.....this sucks and you can't seem to disable it.

My question......will this still happen if I install a line level converter and my own amps and speakers...which I plan to do. Is this amp controlled or head unit controlled?

I highly doubt the audio gets lower when stopped. Chances are the road noise and/or wind noise temporarily affects your hearing so things seems too quiet when you come to a stop.

I had that function on two mustangs. I can't tell you if that is truly an option on your Jeep, but I know it occurs from the head unit.

He is telling the truth. I've confirmed this myself.

When my soft top is on (thus the wire harness is unhooked) I get SSN along with the reduced audio volume talked about in other threads.

I can override both by using a fuse jumper.

It is without a doubt real. I have spent hours trying to find a solution, all to no avail unless it's a fuse/hardware solution.

Can this feature not be turned on and off? On our other two vehicles it is a setting called ALC.

Can't be as bad as my VW where the volume and bass both shoot up when you brake hard. They at least let you deactivate it though.

I really like where Chrysler is going in general, but their electronics team is HORRIBLE.
