Stock 2015 JK 4 door sport

I had an old TJ years ago and have just recently, after a nasty divorce, decided to go back to driving a Jeep. I absolutely love my Blu and plan on making a lot of upgrades.

I've heard so many conflicting stories so I need someone to help give me a definite answer since this is the first JK I've owned.

Can I put 285/70r17 Duratracs on my stock wheels and stock suspension until I can get my 2" lift put on. It's tough finding time to do that with work and kids but if everyone is like me, I want everything now. LOL.

Please help! Thanks!

Yes, but you can't off-road really or they will bump the top. As far as street driving yes, they may rub on inside on tight turns. Your good to go. If your concerned get a spacer leveling kit which will give you room for 33" tires. 285 tires are like 32.7 inches I believe. Stock 255 75 17 tires are 32.1 inches tall.

Agreed, the short answer is yes but you will get rubbing when flexing. The long answer is here: https://www.wranglerforum.com/f27/lar...er-142837.html

Ok so is it the fact that factory wheels are not off set enough causing the rub or is it the fact that the suspension is too low? I don't plan on offroading any until I get the lift put on anyways but I don't want to damage anything underneath until then.

They factory tires are not as tall as 285's. So if you do off-roading where the articulation is steep aka one wheel on a rock the other on the ground...the 285 will hit the top of the fender, whereas the stock 255 will not

You can put on 285s now. In time though add a spacer or a 2 inch lift so you can wheel

Thanks a bunch! In your opinion are the Duratracs a pretty good all around tire. I like the somewhat aggressive look of these tires but I've heard they also ride great too so that's why I wanted them.

Do 90% street driving and love the Duratracs! They are a bit louder than the stock tires, but nothing unbearable and ride a little better IMO.
