That doesn't look good for my suspension.

First time poster, after having so many of my questions answered by previous posts.

After a weekend of off-roading and camping I went to hook up my discos on my 2010 JKU. And both of my shocks looked like this. What is that?

That is not your shocks, that is the bump stop. When your suspension gets completely compressed, those bump stops keep the differential from slamming into the spring perch. Do yo have any kind of lift or other suspension modifications?

Well those aren't your shocks, there the upper bump stops. Looks like they got melted or something......

Not yet, just placed the order for a 2.5 lift last week.
Are these totaled? How does that even happen?

I'm not sure what it is, but if you notice the ride is not the same then replace it... good luck...

Can bump stops alone be replaced?

Yes, the bump stops can be replaced alone. Most vendors will give you a recommended bump stop length based on your lift and tire size. When lifting, you should change the bump stops any way to keep your tires from rubbing your fenders at full flex.

Yes, you can replace the bumps stops alone. And they only cost around $8.
