Tires

Ought my jeep at the end of March! 2011 sport, currently has 23k miles on it. Was plasti dipping my stock rims for the time being until I come up with the money for new rims and tires, and I saw my back rear tire tread was coming off! Dealership put these tires on for me brand new when I purchased it in march. Contacted the dealership today, and I'm going Monday morning to have them look at it. Will they give me a new tire? Any thoughts or experiences would be awesome! Thanks a lot!

You can try, but they'll most likely say it was a road hazard. If you don't have that type of coverage they might not take care of it. Either way, you need a new tire.

What's the tire brand? Are they the Wrangler SR-A's? That is odd with the chuncks missing?? 6 month old brand new tire?

If you the "chunking" was randomly spread throughout the whole tread, it could indicate a manufacturing problem. But instead they are along the a short section one groove. That would coincide with running over some hazard.

No harm in trying, good luck.

Yeah they are wrangler. They were put on brand new at the end of March when the vehicle was purchased. There are currently 7,300 miles on the tires. But it's weird because, 3 of the 4 tires have pieces coming off of the tread. Not as bad as the pic I posted, but noticeable pieces missing. I feel like if I ran something over that would cause that much tire to come off, I would have heard it or felt it.

It's odd that's it in that 1 spot like you ran over something. Congrats on the purchase. Show ics of the rest of the jeep. But it's worth shot to get it replaced. If not there are always stock tires for sale on cragslist.
