Uconnect.upn

When I download uconnect update HFM 63-03-08 directly (Option 2) to my Mac hard drive, it shows up as uconnect.upn file (4.2Mb). When I try to open it, I get message "There is no application set to open the document “uconnect.upn”. It tells me to go to the App store to get an application to open it. Have any Mac users had this problem? It may be a setting on my Mac. I have also contacted some Mac support sites to find out about .upn file extensions.

A call to UConnect Support was worthless. She never did understand what I was talking about and referred me to the dealer.

Do not try and open that file. That is the HFM firmware update file. Thats the file that goes on the flash drive.

I just went through this. Like jaybot says - just copy to a thumb drive and put in the usb port of the radio following the instructions. It's pretty easy. The instructions are available from the download page.

What does the update do? Is it worth the time to install?

Supposed to fix uconnect bugs. Did not see much of a difference. Did kill the memory for the radio on key off. Whatever you are listening to at key off is lost from memory. Key on goes back to the radio.

That’s what mine does now. Kinda figured it would be a waste of effort.

Not to reopen this thread, however I'm about to apply this and I really hope it fixes the SMS Notification bug, being that when you set it to off it still interrupts and advises you of a new message. I've been on my dealers ass for years about this bug and someone their finally referred me to this update.

After I plugged my thumb drive with the unconnect.upn file into the 730N, nothing happens. No prompts that the file is loading, nothing.
