Universal wireless winch remote.

I mounted a smittybuilt xrc 9500 gen 2 winch on my polar edition. I installed the control box under the hood. I'm looking for a universal wireless remote kit that would work. Any suggestions?

I found a Warn wireless control unit on Ebay that wasn't too expensive. Simple hookup.
The marine 190 amp in-line shut off switch for the winch + wire was expensive though.

Could be overkill. I was just worried something in the city might operate on the same frequency and start my winch causing damage or electrical fire if it just keeps running.

Being wired directly to the battery with the ability to operate anytime made me a little paranoid.

The warn remote won't work unless it's activated first. Even then it's supposed to be protected for that reason. Also only has a 90' range on it.
I've had mine for over 4 years now and haven't had one problem. I also live in Edmonton near many people and houses. Nothing has activated it yet.

I bought the badlands wireless winch controller from harbor freight. I have it at the shop waiting to be wired up with other work. I'll let ya know how it turns out. Gonna relocate the winch control box & the wireless box under the hood.

I just installed a Warn m8000 winch and mounted the control box to the winch. I would love to see how and where to relocate it under the hood. Maybe I was to excited to get it going to look hard.
