Upgrading base radio

I have a 2017 jk with a base radio. I bought a uconnect radio identical to that in my 2014 patriot high altitude but it wont start. I plugged in the uconnect radio from my patriot into the jk and it wont power up also.

Theres an additional 3 prong plug in the patriot which isnt there in the jk.

The radio that you bought is a low-speed can-bus system and our Wranglers have a high-speed can-bus. You will need a radio from another high-speed bus vehicle.

Click on that link and the chart shows what Chrysler vehicles have low and high can-bus speeds. You will need a high speed bus radio to work in a Wrangler. The Patriot is a low speed bus radio. Anything that was originally installed in one of these should work:

Liberty (AH)
Minivans (AH up to 11/05/07)
Minivans (AI after 11/05/07)
Nitro (AG)
Wrangler (AH)

Anything NOT in one of these vehicles should be a high speed bus radio and therefore should work.
These are low speed vehicles.

I priced out the whole upgrade as of now it's not worth it. It doesn't add that much value. I can get a 730n high speed for around 500 bucks, plus I need to get a bluetooth module. I could have gotten it from the guy who sold me the 130 radio, which didnt work cause it was low speed canbus, but he never answered. I bought a Sirius xm antenna with the factory plug already. I'd still need the 6 pin plug for the bluetooth module which as I've stated I dont have and a mic. If i wanted GPS I'd have to get an antenna although those are peanuts.

So overall, if i were to do it the infotainment way, which I'm sure moderates this forum due to personal interests, I'd have to spend:

730n - 500-600$
Bluetooth module - 300$
Harness w/mic - ???$
GPS antenna - say 30$

What's this package worth from chrysler?

Unless I can source out the parts on the cheap I ain't doing it.

You are much better off putting that money towards an aftermarket head unit.... Sorry I don't have any to recommend.

Actually, the 730 has the BT module built into it with the UConnect module. (it's part of the 730 and not a separate module)

You would still be better off with a good aftermarket radio like a Pioneer NEX. Cheaper and better. With a iDatalink Maestro, it will integrate into the CANBUS.

You can get a Pioneer NEX2300 refurb from eBay for $230, the iDatalink Masetro is about $100 and it will sound better too. Runs AA and Carplay which covers Nav.

I have android. I like the preouts, a stronger amp so I dont have to wire my Rockford fosgate under the seat, not right away anyway, nav onscreen, bluetooth so it auto connects to my phone, and on and on.

Thank you. I dont want to lose my rotary controls.

I have a home satellite radio rigged in the cubby where the power windows go, the antenna wire is dangling down the middle but it works. I routed the antenna down to the soundbar and stuck it on there. Works better than on the dashboard.

I took off the speaker covers and found upgraded kicker speakers. I'm guessing the front panel was upgraded also so I returned the cerwin Vegas to Amazon. I also returned the siriusxm antenna I bought and I'm thinking of returning the fortin remote starter as I dont even have a remote key fob.

On another note, I saw a pair of 6.5 inch subwoofers on amazon. I dont know if they are 2 or 4ohm but they look good. I noticed that the soundbar has a 3.5 tweeter also. I wonder if those were upgraded.

I've had the car for 4 thousand kilometers. I love it.
