Vacuum pump?

I have a 2013 Jku and I was installing a new bumper and I found this unplugged (plug on left). I have no idea how long it has been that way I'm thinking it was never plugged back in when I had warranty work done. My question is what does it do I believe it's the VACUUM PUMP but have not noticed any thing different and no alarms went offThanks for any help.

yup thats the vacuum pump. our engine does not make enough vacuum in all situations. It just makes extra vacuum to operate the brake booster and probably other engine stuff. The only time I get it to come on is when I am doing stuff like this. Mine is relocated just forward of the brake master cylinder so I hear it, you may or may not hear it in the stock location.
