What is this plastic bolt with o-ring?

Guys, I found this in my stock air dam. I took it off to trim and this was in the bottom. It is a black plastic, Phillips head bolt with black o-ring. The thread have a channel down the side from bolt head to end of threads. Any help is appreciated. Thanks and have a safe and happy holiday season.

Something like that is "usually" an assembly plug when a vehicle is being assembled on the line or say a part is being replaced. A plug like that would be used to seal up the hose connections on an ac or power steering pump for example to keep crap out and assembly oil in. The plugs are removed and the hoses are then connected.

Thanks. I looked all over to see where it went and could not find anything similar.

I just had my coolant flushed twice last Thursday and thought the dealer left something off. The two flushes was due to them putting HOAT in instead of OAT. I checked out the part numbers on my invoice before I left and alerted them to their mistake. They verified they grabbed the wrong coolant and apologized. It was a bit annoying since I told the service guy to make sure they use OAT and even had it written on the paperwork I gave him. Unfortunately, the Parts Manager assumed and grabbed HOAT. He admitted his mistake so I couldn't be too upset with it being the holiday season and all.

Mistakes happen. I am glad I had the forum to learn about the disasters of mixing coolants. The eye opening thing about this is that dealers are still confused about when OAT started being used. I showed the the TSB so hopefully they do not make the same mistake in the future. The guy that did the 2nd flush was a Jeep guy and ensured me he flushed it out well and then use the correct 10/150 OAT coolant. Needless to say, it was a long day.
Merry Christmas to all.

The petcock is a twist knob so I know it isn't that. I checked. What is this thermostat plug? Any pictures?

This is why I love this forum. You were right. I guess they dropped the original one and could not find it because it was stuck up under the air dam. They replaced it with a new one it seems. No leaks so everything looks good.

Thanks for figuring this out. I was losing some sleep over the fear the dealer screwed something up.

Merry Christmas.
