Wheel Spacers for Stock Set Up

All,

I have read the numerous threads on wheel spacers. Most of the reading was for modified Jeeps. I have a 2015 JKU Sahara Altitude with 18" wheels and 255/70/18 tires. Plans are for a 2.5" lift and new wheel and tire package by the end of fall this year. In the mean time, I am looking into wheel spacers just to widen the stock stance a bit. I am looking at 1.5" spacers right now. What size do you recommend? What manufacturer has the best overall quality; hub centric and material? Does anyone see any negative effects if I do this? I have seen many opinions of pros and cons over the years. Thanks all.

^^^Spidertrax 1.5" seem to be one of the favorites of the Forum.

Just make sure that you remove the retaining clips first. Clean your hub mounting surface and then use the supplied Loctite. Torque them to 100 ft. lbs.
Recheck the torque at tire rotation time. but only use 85 ft. lbs. so that you don't disturb the Loctite.

Then you should be good to go........

Just remember, once that you move your wheels and tires out, you are adding additional stress to your hub bearing and ball joints. Plus you are changing your scrub radius.
So it is just a tradeoff..FYI

I considered all the options and bought a two pair from Extreme Terrain they run about $60/pair. These, like the more expensive SpiderTrax are 1 1/2" Hub Centric spacers. I've had mine on since October and they've performed great. Saved me over $80 compared to SpiderTrax.

Touch base with XTRyan from Extreme Terrain he can help out with discount.

I haven't heard one bad thing about them RedRock spacers! It's my opinion that sometimes you end up paying for a name, and it seems that way with the SpiderTrax. The RedRock spacers are high grade aluminum, hub centric and come with the lugs installed and ready to bolt up.

OP, let me know if you're interested in a quote on a set and I'll get you a price!
