Question Whine (and an odor) When Driving w/ A/C On

I've had my 2014 JKURX for a little over a year and have logged 26k miles. Since day one, the Jeep has whined when driven with the A/C on. I've always chalked this up to the compressor and never really thought about it.

Last Sunday, while driving 70 mph on the interstate, we started to smell an odor that was part burning smell, part rubbery smell. Now I'm worried.

Should I have the compressor replaced or could it be something else?

Thanks.

Sounds like a bad compressor burning up the belt

Bring it in to the dealer before you reach 36K mikes. It sounds like the compressor is on it's way out.
